RealPlayer for 64 bit Linux

This is quick note to myself as I keep forgetting it.

The location to download latest nightly builds for RealPlayer that includes a x86_64 version for Linux is here.

For x86_64 Linux choose the version tagged linux-2.6-glibc23-amd64.

  2. The contents of the archive you will download is just a file named libflashplayer.so.

Just place it on a directory of your choice -- mine is in /opt/flashplayer -- and then link the ~/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so to the extracted file.

Anyway RealPlayer does not require any setup at all. Just untar the archive you 'll download into a directory of your choice and -- again mine is in /opt/RealPlayer -- and run realplay.
